This art contest is open to all the Ceramists from Deruta and to all the Artisans, Artists, Students, Designers who love Ceramics. Participants must realize an artistic artwork made in Ceramic, inspired by the city of Deruta: from a detail of its history, culture, art and tradition, each Artist will create a ceramic work inspired by a single theme, which will be the same for everybody. The idea is to stimulate the imagination and creativity, to explore and understand more closely the different artistic sensitivities on the same subject and find out how and in which way the town of Deruta is designed and interpreted by individual personalities.

Targeting the creation of new synergies among Ceramists, the event is meant to be an opportunity for socialization and discussion, an exchange of signs, symbols, expressive languages and cultures around a common theme: a draft of a visual identity which has to be able to review the history, the art, the traditions, the styles and designs of Deruta’s Ceramic Art, aimed to the realization of a collective art exhibition dedicated to the City.

The initiative has the aim and the desire to pay homage to the town of Deruta, in particular to the Art of Ceramics that characterizes it. The creation of a cultural space that generates a strong growth of the knowledge of this ancient art among the public, will emphasize a profession where art and craft, intellect and skill meet and cross together.
An exhibition of collective art is an important moment where it is possible to exchange experiences, skills and traditions: owing to this the participation in this art contest means to deal with the creativity of other Artists on the same subject, getting into the game firsthand in order to create an overview that shows the significance of a common concept but seen from different eyes and minds. In this perspective of collaboration we can give space to different forms of artistic expressions, in order to contribute to the knowledge and the defense of true artistic Ceramics production.
